D.O.R.K.

One great thing about Facebook is keeping in touch with family and friends. I have a wonderful niece that I’ve watched grow up from afar. We only get to see each other on Thanksgiving that is if my brother’s family can get here. Looking at Xandi’s photos and reading her status shows me that she has an awesome relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Wow, sometimes her insight as a teenager is so remarkable, I forget she’s still in high school. I was surprised when she posted, “I love being a D.O.R.K.” When first of all I know she isn’t, so I figured it meant something special. She told me that I was a D.O.R.K. too. Well maybe not quite like that but she would have been right. I’m happy to report that I am a Daughter Of the Risen King, a D.O.R.K. I love having a Facebook relationship with Xandi, so I hope when I confess to her that I’m also a dork, she won’t think any less of me. Dictionary.com states, that a dork is a noun that means, “a stupid or ridiculous person. “ So Xandi, I’m...

Fluttering Butterflies

On my way to and from work there are many little yellow butterflies fluttering around the road. Up and down, to and fro in what seemed like a meaningless flight. I wondered what they must think when my car went zooming through. Have I altered their way, changing their flight pattern? Sure, I can see them in my review mirror trying to recover from the “whoosh” that I created. Now I’m the type of person who in no way shape or form, wants to create a “whoosh” for anybody, including butterflies. My drive to work is a time for me to pray and get my mind ready for the day. So when I broke the butterflies out of their formation, I thought, what if my just said prayer is just fluttering around out there? Did someone else’s prayer create a “whoosh” as it zipped by, blowing mine all around not making it to its final destination? Oh the questions that came racing to my mind. Was the other person’s prayer more prayerful then mine? Does their prayer have a faster connection speed to the Lord the...

Son's Love

When picking songs the worship ministry chose RENEWAL as the theme. What a great way to continue with my “White Cycle” thought from last time. No I’m not going to talk about colors again I’m going to talk about “The Rose”. The lyrics of this 1979 song says, “Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow, lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes the rose.” Now, I know nothing about farming or horticulture, it is so bad that that the only plants that Butch lets me have at work…are fake. All I have to do is dust them. But I do understand the process of renewal, that rose needs the snow to be regenerated for next spring. It receives moister from the snow and then life from the sun. Just like the rose we too need the Son’s love. The S O N Son’s love so we to can be renewed. Isaiah 40:29-31 ~ He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in...

The White Cycle

Joy Joy Joy…how can we be joyous when all we’ve seen for the last several weeks is white. With all the colors of the rainbow that he Lord provides for us to see…I think we are stuck in the white cycle. I got to thinking about how many different colors of white there are, so I looked online at Sherwin-Williams and Bengamin Moore.   These business specialize in color and boy to they. Sherwin-Williams has 204 and Bengamin Moore has 224 different shades of white. I found it interesting about why they name the colors as they did.   Here are some of my thoughts. Sherwin-Williams Extra White – must have a little extra stuff Nice White – could this one be politer then the others Simple White – is it easier on the eyes Smart White – if I ever get to paint an office I’m using this one, it could make me intelligent Dreamy White & Restful White – will I sleep better if I paint the bedroom with these? Benjamin Moore Timid White – this must be shyer then the other whites Seapearl...
